Senator Chris Eaton
Christine Ann “Chris” Eaton (born Jan. 5, 1954) represents SD 40, which includes the cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park in Hennepin County, in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. She won a special election in October, 2011 and was re-elected in November 2012 to a new four year term. Eaton is a registered nurse and a member of the Minnesota Nurses Association. She is currently working in the Special Needs Basic Care Dept. at Mental Health Resources, Inc.
She previously worked as a nurse in the Ramsey County Mental Health Initiative, and as a human services technician at the Anoka Treatment Center. She graduated from the Anoka- Ramsey Community College, where she earned her nursing degree. Going into the 2013 legislative session Senator Eaton was named as a Majority Caucus Whip. Sen. Eaton will also be serving as the DFL vice-chair for the State and Local Government Committee.
Her other committee assignments include Taxes, Health, Human Services & Housing, Environment & Energy, and Tax Reform Divi- sion. Her special legislative concerns include health care, labor issues, social justice, and the environment. Eaton and her husband of 31 yrs, Tim Willson, are the parents of two children and one grandchild. Tim Willson is the current mayor of Brooklyn Center.
